@laurenbthenp: Waiting 6 weeks for a follow-up I think is way too long! What do you think?! #nurse #nursepractitioner #postpartum #mom #womenshealth

FNP here. Love watching you. I work women’s health and the Lindsey Clancy case has changed this for me! Pushing for those mood checks 10-14 days after delivery!!!

As an NP working in peds, and being the newest clinician in my office I see a lot of newborns and I and so careful to always screen moms because I think it’s just so important for every mom. Also, I haven’t noticing lately a lot of the OB’s in my area which is eastern Connecticut are having their patients check in at 2 weeks!

I work women’s health as an NP and we do 1-2 week checks on everyone regardless of their history! It’s so necessary.

Totally agree! Bring on the two week PP check. Not to mention I’d like to have someone look at either your surgical incision or your repair and make sure it all looks good. Also, what’s a normal BP at 9 cm dilated😳😂

I think a virtual 2 week follow would be appropriate - appts freshly postpartum felt like the biggest task!

Live in CT, greater New Haven. My kids are older, but I am lucky I saw my ob at 2 weeks and 6 weeks. But I remember my kids pediatrician Dr Nancy Brown checking on ME at every well baby visit. I was lucky to be fine, but she always asked and then gave me a hug at the end and said I was doing a good job. She was amazing

I recently delivered 2 weeks ago as well and my OB scheduled a 2 week visit and I don’t have any history, so maybe this is something that they are starting to do more!

Love seeing my patients in clinic for their 2 week postpartum checks! I think it’s a game changer! We added this visit about 2 years ago, and we are catching a lot of depression/anxiety and even PP HTN

as someone with a c section I was seen at 1 week, 2 weeks and 6 weeks. however, I would recommend a 6 month check for mood (coming from a mh therapist)

I called my OB 1 week PP to see if I needed to come in for a BP check after my pre e delivery because I had to do that with my first after pre e. No one ever called me back 😅 no vitals and no PPD screening until 6 weeks PP is so wild to me

My office does a 2 week follow up but it’s telemedicine apt. Got on lexapro then no way I could’ve waited 6 weeks.

Protein in urine is no longer a required component for pre-e diagnosis if there is other organ involvement (kidney dysfunction, low plt count, elevated LFT’s, pulmonary edema, or neuro signs). A lot of my local OB’s are bringing mom in for a 2 week post partum visit. I agree should be a standard for all, not just those high risk.

They scheduled a mood check for me (Massachusetts) in a couple weeks which I’ve never had before. I’m wondering if the current big case going on is the reason why? I have an almost 4 year old, and 2 year old who I never had a mood check for.
