Rian Johnson made the 2nd best movie in the franchise (George Lucas approved of it personally) and yet "fans" tore it down because of the rightoid hate crusade going on at the time.

I’m sorry, but I live through the prequels. You’re never gonna take Star Wars away for me. People are so quick to forget that when the prequel came out, Star Wars was a dirty word for at least another decade until the force awakens came out and in that time I got a Star Wars tattoo because no matter what nobody’s ever gonna take Star Wars away from me it will be what it will be and it has been what it has been the toys, the cartoons the sideshows and it is disappointing and here and there we will get gems like and/or, but you gotta take the good with the bed. That’s what I learned about Star Wars from the prequels. I got my Star Wars tattoo in a time when Star Wars was a dirty word and I didn’t hesitate for a second because what Star Wars is at its core is a calling card to all misfits and all rebels in the world who want to find connection with other like-minded people, regardless of all the slop that is put out there just to make money no matter what you’ll never take Star Wars away from me and other people like me

Rian Johnson gave us something new and exciting and a really vocal portion of the fan base was upset and just wanted safe and cozy. I really like Watt's Spiderman movies, Homecoming is so good and fits the source material perfectly, he will probably make something safe and cozy and uninteresting. I blame the Last Jedi haters for this, episode 9, and the death of anything cool in the future for SW. Andor is its own special thing though, we didnt deserve it and I have no clue why they let Gilroy make it. But I'm so happy we have it.

I feel like star wars just needs to move on with certain characters as story lines and leave them in the past. In my opinion the first two seasons of the Mandalorian were really good but because they gained popularity they got turned into a product and Disney capitalised off of them so much. They lost their meaning as characters for me because they got strung along so much

I hate Jon Watts Spider-Man, but did nobody watch Skeleton Crew? Because it builds an entire arc for the cyborg girl in it as an allegory for disability and it's genuinely excellent. The most original thing to happen to Star Wars next to Andor and TLJ.

Doomer pov: it's a lose lose for fans. Not many bothered seeing Grogu and Mando in cinema. If both of these projects flop then Disney will simply shelf it and put in a vault never to produce anymore.
