Little tip: start saving up for another one now! Your warranty will only be good for 5 years. When it’s no longer under warranty you will not be able to do software updates which means it will not be compatible with any new tech updates like new Dexcom roll outs and stuff! (I’m still using g6 bc I cannot update my pump to be compatible with g7 🥹 I refuse to buy another pump when this one works just fine still!

I just ran into your post, this October 12 will mark 15 years since I was diagnosed. A month after I was diagnosed my home town hosted a “benefit” is what we called it in Miramchi. My benefit they raised 12k. I was able to buy my first 2 Medtronic Insuin pumps. Back to back. Now the provincial government pays for my supplies and the pump.

Congratulations! Wonderful that people were able to come together here and help. It’s crazy that you had to pay so much out of pocket. My mom is starting a pump soon too so I’m worried about everything I am seeing here in the comments about having to run updates and upgrade after so long. She currently using dexcom and I finally realized it needed a software update? I was so confused, everything is so complicated 😔
