i have to give the caveat that the OLEDs i have regular access to are set up in completely different circumstances than my ips monitor, so i can't compare the tech like SUPER objectively, but fron what i can see so far, the diff OLED vs a good modern IPS is not mega dramatic. OLED seems a bit better, but the OLED screens i sit infront of are also much larger than all the IPS ones in my life. and you can get IPS monitors that look stunning so so cheap!!! i recently swithced from tn to ips for my in bed PC set up where its just the IPS screen now on a two jointed arm flexible over my bed, and a PC well hidden (yet suining its RGB across the room) behind the bed. i have to say, the switch from tn to IPS was MEGA! the colors REALLY immediately popped, just so vibrant, beautiful, and the contrast was much better! i cant even imagine OLED or VA in that setting, if the IPS is already very convincing (it was also on the high side of contrast for an IPS, 1500:1, i guess most others i saw in a similar price bracket and higher came to 1000:1). no, but since there is also no OLED ib my preferred size (in that position over my bed 24 inch is already almost a bit too large, 22-23 would be perfect, but 24 is fine, almost perfect), and the OLEDs start at 27 (or go really small, liks 16? but no 22, 23, 24 inch). so for me there isn't even a viable OLED option now. and even if there was, i just got a (for my purpose) maxxed out IPS 24 inch, 1080p (perfext for 24, on 27 id want 1440p, and then my GPU would work extra and id have less fps just for a larger screen that is unpleasant for the space anyway) 144 hz (i dont play conpetitive, and for visual enjoyment i doubt i could notice a swithc to 160hz or sth [and i did see the duff to 144 distinctly, but above that i buy that you might subconsciously intuit an enemy faster with 350hz refresh, but for enjoyment there is no diff anymore anfter 144hz, at least i dont think so. maybe one day im proven wrong), idk, its just great, and it was like 50 euro, basically free 😅 so IPS right now is great, OLED is not rlly worth the 5-10x price incr, but if you have the $ and want to maxx out, OLED is a good idea, paired with a nice 5080 or sth

There's one thing about OLED screens that is annoying: They are reflective AF, so if you have any lightsource behind you you will see that on the screen. And if you have a lightsource behind the monitor, you will see your ugly mug whenever the screen goes dark. Apart from that: I could never move back to IPS or VA.

My mini led is way better purchase than cheapest oleds, thry cost same. I was jsing Samsung g7 240Hz VA from 2020. I upgrade every 4-6 years my monitor. Only drawback with 4k gaming is GPUs not powerful enough as they was in past. AOC U27G4XM — a 27" 4K Mini-LED, with 160 Hz / 320 Hz dual mode.

i had 2 choice for similar price. 4k ips hdr600, dolby vision 165hz. or oled 1440p. personally dont care about that better colors. i prioritized a better resolution and im not regreting my choice. it renders super well
