When I think about basketball, one of the first players I think about is Steph Curry. I’ve watched him play for years, and honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching him. He just plays the game differently from everyone else. To me, he isn’t just a great basketball player. He’s one of the main reasons basketball is so fun to watch. The biggest thing that stands out to me about Curry is obviously his shooting. The shots he takes sometimes don’t even look real. He’ll pull up from ridiculously far away, and somehow the ball still goes in. Most players wouldn’t even think about taking some of the shots Curry takes, but he makes them look completely normal. I also love watching him dribble. His handles aren’t the flashiest for no reason; they actually help him create space and get his shot off. He can make a defender think he’s going one way, quickly change direction, and suddenly have an open three. Sometimes I honestly feel bad for the defenders because they have no idea what Curry is about to do. Another reason I respect Curry so much is because of how much he changed basketball. Before Curry became a superstar, shooting really deep threes wasn’t nearly as common as it is now. Curry showed everyone that you could actually build your game around shooting from that range. Now, kids everywhere are trying to shoot like him, and I think that says a lot about his influence. One of my favorite things about Curry is how he plays when the game gets close. When there’s a lot of pressure, he doesn’t seem scared to take the shot. If anything, it feels like he wants the ball even more. Whenever Curry starts getting hot late in a game, I always feel like something crazy is about to happen. I also think people sometimes forget how good Curry is without the ball. He’s constantly running around, setting up plays, and making defenders chase him. Even when he isn’t scoring, he’s still creating opportunities for his teammates because defenders have to stay close to him. That makes him dangerous in more ways than just shooting. Another thing I respect is how long he has stayed at the top. Curry has been doing this for a long time, and he still finds ways to make an

Steph, I just wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve done for basketball and for inspiring me to keep chasing my dreams. You’ve shown me that confidence, hard work, and believing in yourself can take you farther than anyone expects. Watching you play has made me love basketball even more, and the way you keep shooting no matter how many shots you miss is something I try to carry into my own game. You’re more than just my favorite player—you’re someone who motivates me to keep working, keep improving, and never give up on what I want to accomplish. I hope one day I can make you proud and become the kind of player who inspires someone else the way you’ve inspired me. Thank you, Steph. 🐐💙💛
