Based on the K shaped economy you mentioned at the end and prices of homes in affluent areas, concert tickets,etc- is this why you see the cost of goods and services all priced oddly high? Because the businesses are saying “we are going after the top of the K because we know they’ll spend it, regardless of if it makes the bottom half of the K stretch to afford or go without said goods/services?

it's not just money printing. it's insurance companies being the drain. buying all of the generously rated corporate debt. it's perfect because they'll fail one by one instead of all at once. what a tragedy!

Given the current political climate, what hope do we have for self imposed fiscal austerity? I see no way to avoid USD losing reserve currency status, interest rates going higher for longer, and endless money printing by the fed to keep up with interest payments. No sane politician would ever vote for the level spending cuts and/or tax increases required. And most average people wouldn't vote for a politician campaigning on those policies.

K shaped economy isn't real. it's been debunked over and over. the COVID money only exceeded WW2 if you think that $1 then is equal to $1 now which is ridiculous. it's sad watching yet another guy fall trap to this money printing idea. people have been saying this since the 1980s and we've only gotten richer on nominal terms.
