“No evidence that there’s any difference in brain structure” - given that no brains have survived from that period, you cannot safely make that statement. It’s like asking to prove a negative. If there’s no evidence because there’s nothing to get evidence from, then your comment is meaningless. The likelihood is that our distant ancestors would be extremely similar to us, however you can’t extrapolate from “no evidence”.

300k years is a long time. The amount of physiological changes over that time alone points to a significant difference in cognitive ability. You might be scientifically unable to prove that, but that doesn’t mean human capacity for cognition hasn’t adapted

😂 the intelligence (IQ) of a human 200000 yrs will definitely be far less than that of humans today. the reason being, the humans today have gone thro an extra layer of 200000 years of evolution where only the smartest and those with a bigger physical size had a better chance of survival!!

I personally believe heavily in epigenetics. After learning about parts of the human body that read DNA to determine the blueprint for future development, I cannot see this foundational molecule as anything less than the molecular, physical and electromagnetic database of our bodies. I personally think 200,000 years of missed history would be felt (at least intuitively) between ancient humans and modern humans, but I do agree with what you say. We cannot lose sight of our roots just to further ingratiate ourselves in the chaos of modern technology.
