@itsfarkhana: 🤎 Things I know at 37 that I desperately needed to hear 10 years ago: Having your own money matters. Even in a happy marriage. Even if he earns enough. Even if you think you'll never need it. Life can change very quickly. Your own money gives you choices. Stop begging people to see your worth. The right people won't need convincing. And the wrong people will happily let you exhaust yourself trying. A marriage ending does not mean your life has failed. Sometimes the thing you thought would destroy you becomes the beginning of a version of you that you haven't even met yet. You are allowed to start again. At 30. At 37. At 47. With children. With debt. With absolutely no idea what you're doing. You do not need anyone's permission to want more for your life. Learn how to make money. Not just how to spend it or save it. Learn a skill. Build something. Understand your finances. Never put your entire financial future in somebody else's hands. Your children are watching how you live, not just listening to what you tell them. Let them see a woman who can fall apart, turn to Allah, get back up and rebuild. Some people will never understand the decisions you make for your own life. Let them misunderstand you. You cannot spend your life performing a version of yourself that makes everybody else comfortable. Stay close to Allah when life makes absolutely no sense. Some of the duas I thought weren't being answered were leading me somewhere I couldn't see yet. Love can find you again. One painful chapter does not get to write the ending of your story. And perhaps the biggest one... You are not too old. You are not too late. And you haven't ruined your life. At 27, I couldn't see the woman I would become at 37. I'm so grateful I kept going long enough to meet her. 🤎 Save this for the day starting again feels impossible. #StartingOver #LifeAfterDivorce #DivorcedWomen #WomenInTheir30s #FinancialIndependence
