@vividvisionsoptometry: School tests usually measure what a child knows, but they may not account for how hard that child’s visual system is working just to read, track, focus, and process the page. A child with undiagnosed Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD) may struggle with reading, lose their place, skip words, get headaches, fatigue quickly, avoid schoolwork, or have difficulty concentrating. Those struggles can sometimes look like laziness, attention problems, or a learning disorder. And if the visual component is never evaluated, that child may spend years believing they are simply “bad at school” when their eyes may not be working together efficiently. BVD does not explain every case of ADHD or dyslexia, but binocular vision should be considered when a child has persistent reading, focusing, or visual symptoms. A 20/20 eye exam does not always tell the whole story. 👀 #BVD #BinocularVisionDysfunction #VisionTherapy #PrismGlasses #ADHD
