My college roommate is Jewish and I was raised Roman Catholic. We learned so much from each other and ultimately ended up moving right around the corner from each other. Our husbands get along very well…. and we enjoy celebrating both Jewish and Christian holidays whenever we can. We’ve raised our children together.. and now we’re grandparents … so hard to believe that.😂🤣. Our friendship has stood the test of time… primarily due to mutual respect for each other’s religious practices, customs and a willingness to learn about our cultures. We’ve attended their daughter’s Bat Mitzvah’s and weddings (they have 3 daughters), and they’ve attended our son’s (we have 2), baptisms and weddings. We traveled our families together to Germany, Italy, Israel and Egypt. Imagine, two 18 year old girls…one girl raised in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and the other raised in the Branch Brook section of Newark, New Jersey…. spending 4 years as college roommates; yielding a lifetime of friendship and fond memories. Who would have thought. Thanks Miriam for building great content, positivity… and for sharing your family and friends with us. I’ve learned so much from you… which continues to strengthen my relationship with my forever BFF. On the lighter side, I’ve been trying so hard to blow my shofar. 🤣😂. It’s tough. I promised myself not to give up. Pray for me.🤣🤣😂
