The internet and media circus have been in a frenzy since Karmello Anthony and it feels like the only reason why this case has gotten the attention it has. If Nolan Wells had been on a boat with 3 other black guys we wouldn't be talking about this case. 99% of cases like this wouldn't make it past the evening news, but because people online decided it was racially motivated before the police even had all the facts, the family has not been able to grieve the loss of their son in peace, and has received harassment and death threats. As have the friends of Nolan who were on the boat with him that day.
