I know a lot of fathers who try to teach their sons what it means to be a man, but they often confuse masculinity with sex, sexualizing women, and outdated ideas about manhood. Some even normalize older men going abroad to find much younger women. To me, that’s simply the wrong message to give boys. Masculinity should be about respect, responsibility, self-control, and how you treat others — not about objectifying women or proving yourself through sex.

I'm a single mom of 2 sons and a daughter.... so I take both roles because their donor was never around.... that being said.... I had a long conversation with my teenage boys, since they were in elementary. I hope I raised respectful, responsible and brave men.... and they do the right thing. I let them know that I better not find out that they didn't do anything to protect woman from harm.... to hold other men accountable. I'am a Jane Doe... I also have been a victim. I'm still angry about what happened to me and I'm angry how this happens to mostly all of us and nothing is done. FATHERS TEACH YOUR SONS ABOUT CONSENT, TEACH YOUR SONS ABOUT MISOGYNY, AND THAT NO MEANS NO!!!

Not to excuse them but my dad was never there. For the longest time I blamed him but then I understood that nobody taught him. Where are they?!? They are part of the problem. Hell in some cases they ARE the problem. They don’t give a 💩. I’m tired of asking these questions. We are at a time in society where men should be held accountable and more often than not they are let go with leniency.

when I get the " well what fo you expect us to do?" I feel like screaming. " i expect you to hold your homies accountable, to vote like lives depend on it, to hold space and anger for those you KNOW deal with this."
