I used to do this in LA, and the amount of people that actually would also start doing it around me was astonishing. just braking early and slowly driving to compensate for the car ahead of you to stop will ensure that you will both be moving by the time you get to the car and thus elimates the traffic jam

y'all dead ass seeing this and think the answer is leave space?! THE LESSON IS DON'T BRAKE FOR NO REASON ON THE HIGHWAY! Let off your gas if you need to slow down, braking tells everyone behind you that they too need to brake because there is a reason we need to immediately slow down!
