I too was told not to “ruin his future over a drunken mistake” even though him and his 5 friends drugged me and there was also a witness. My boyfriend at the time beat me for “cheating”. The system was never there to protect us.

I was being stalked in college and walked into the police station because my stalker literally was stalking me outside of it and got told because the sidewalk he was doing it on was public they couldn’t do anything about it… he had also previously SA’ed me before he became my stalker.

I was graped so badly in highschool that the boys parents took him out of school so he wouldn’t be around me leading up to an expected a trial. All his friends dropped him- they knew. They SAW IT. Who didn’t believe me? My own mother. My dad was in the airforce in the Middle East and she said “if you blow this up he will want to come home & then we won’t have money for college, for you or your brother, is that what you want? Take the entire family down because you got hurt?” She did drive me 2 hours to get plan B because “I’ll never live it down if anyone I know or works with sees me buying you this”. I was shamed all the way home. When it happened the second time 8 years later I tried to tell my dad. My mom said “don’t tell him or he will end up in jail”, still I needed my dad so I tried & he screamed “don’t say another f-ing word or I’m going to have to kill someone” and stormed out. We have never spoken about it & my mom says I made both up. I had to have parts of my inside cauterized out of me due to the damage. Meaning burned out with a wire.
