If memory serves, her name was Emma Sulkowitz (something like that) and she called the performance piece “Carry the weight.”

i was sa in my dorm room at csuf by a man i considered a friend. he also only had to write me an apology letter. it started with: “this letter is not an admission of guilt”. it was 1 paragraph long. he was 4 people in front of me at graduation.

I was 20. I was in college . April 2, 2016. It was the night of my formal and I went with my boyfriend at the time and let him stay at my place. I was lucky that I woke up before things got worse but still. It took years to realize what that was. I didn’t report because he wasn’t a student there.

Really appreciate hearing your story and take on this. It’s heartbreaking how common this is. Until we start listening and believing women, and actually implement appropriate disciplinary actions towards these men, I’m afraid it will only continue.

Columbia’s public statement stopped short of an apology. The university reaffirmed that its investigation had found Nungesser not responsible and said his experience after the investigation was “very difficult for him and not what Columbia would want any of its students to experience.” It also committed to reforming its gender-based misconduct policies so that all students, “accuser and accused, including those like Paul who are found not responsible,” would be treated with respect. A settlement is not an admission of liability, though the university’s language was conciliatory. -courtdocket dot org

Such a disgust of an academic institution. I blame the fact that universities nowadays are run as businesses instead of places of knowledge.

I'm a man and I am livid. It brings me to tears. And I apologize to all women to have to stand up for themselves in this way when the men at any of the institutions should have already addressed this. You should not have to be on the front lines when any single man should have had the courage to speak up. Disgusting. I am active and working in my own communities to create change. Thank you for this message. And yes..."All men..." is fine. Any man who has a problem with that and needs to defend themselves is on the wrong side of this. I don't take the statement personally because it's 100% understandable. 🔥🙏

I think we just need to go back to have male only colleges and female only colleges. “Teach men not to grape” is an obvious solution with no successful application on a mass scale.
