@byjacklynn: It took 29 years to fully embrace the ‘bounty’ 🫣 You already know I love history and heritage and naturally heritage brands fit into the mix. I’ve always wanted to build a small wardrobe of heritage brands but honestly I’ve always been too worried about what others would think. Sure most people wouldn’t even bat an eyelid, but there is a small percentage (the same type of people that terrorised me as a teen) that I just KNOW will see this as me ‘cosplaying’ or ‘trying to be white’. But I finally have the means and a (little) more confidence to rock a tweed jacket and cap. So whilst this may seem as trivial as buying some clothes, it’s so much bigger to me. It’s part of a process of leaning into myself after decades of living my life dictated by others rules … (well that’s deep for a Sunday) So here’s cheers to my new dubarry of Ireland jacket 😌
