Earl Spencer just seemed so… believable to me. The context, the reason for the contacts, the motivations for his eulogy etc… It all made sense. It all seemed reasonable. I haven’t heard any of his interviews that don’t just smack me with authenticity and truthfulness.

I find the breathless "he would never say something like that" defences are hilarious because one need look no further than the statement the King issued for a supporting example. It was superior, condescending, dismissive and cruel. Just like "rest assured, we'll forget her soon enough".
