This argument doesn’t make sense to me, airbnb verifies your identity through your phone number how would the host get a hold of the verification message sent to your number/email?

I’d love as I’m the neighbour of a Airbnb be able to leave a review from my perspective because the guests that have been in the last 4 months have been horrendous complaining to air bnb is a waste of time

Just so we are clear, we can go to the page and post really good reviews too? I would love to hype up the air b&b we stayed at in ocean city. She was absolutely amazing and did everything in her power to make our stay amazing even during a heat wave she had no control over. The central air unit was too small to handle the heat, which also wasn’t her fault, the unit was there when the house was built. She went out of her way and bought 2 portable air conditioners to put in the house and gave us $500 back even though it was all out of her control. She was THE best host we had ever had, and we do these trips every 2 years. She also left us a great review because we made sure to clean up after ourselves and she said that you never would have guessed 20 people were staying in the house.

So basically Airbnb knew it was an impersonation but prioritized their money over their reputation and took the negative review down anyway. And this is why I don’t use Airbnb anymore. They’re so slimy.

Gross. and i know folks will say this is why they stay in hotels, and right on, but be wary of booking.com or Expedia type websites cause they will switch your stay and fight tooth and nail to keep your money

Most Airbnb reps are outsourced contracted WFH agents. A lot of times those agents go through training briefly & are in sow certification taking live calls while still very new to training. That could definitely account for the audacity of some of those responses from them. They have ppl that are new in training taking calls, responding to emails, etc... who don't really know much. Unfortunately that's just how it is. Revolving door with independent contractors.
