I screamed at 6. I screamed at 13. I screamed at 22. My sister screamed at 5. The worst part, the worst pain, the worst trauma is why I wasn’t heard! Why aren’t we heard? Why is it okay to turn a blind eye? Why is it okay that I get to remember this trauma until I die?

My daughter is one of the shameful statistics…the hope, my hope is something will change by this brave woman’s courage to change on how all of it handled. Shame on all of them. Admin, the boys, the campus police, DA. ALL OF THEM ARE GUILTY. Period.

I tell all the high school seniors and incoming freshmen I work with to immediately go to the hospital and do not bother to go to the campus police, go directly to the real police. When my niece went to college I told her this, gave her an emergency alarm and a drink cover scrunchy.
