I also think it’s also because Boruto is a copy-paste of Naruto and doesn't resemble his mother at all, whereas kazui is a nice blend of both her parents—it makes them look more like a family.

It's cuz Boruto Next Gen is a money grab that nerfed old favourite characters and the fact that most Shoujo animes feel the need to give their MC's sad backstories which mainly follow from bad parents so they ruin an established amazing character who would HATE their future self to make the MC sad because they can't write compelling characters without making others uninteresting and giving them the generic sad boy asthetic. I also hate it when we get world building for a fantasy setting and world and then have a sequel woth NONE of the whimsy left, it's just a modornised world with Ninjas thrown in now
