It’s so sad, we as females have to live like this. When I was deployed to Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan we had to worry about the American service member raping us. Not the men from all these other countries we were deployed with the AMERICAN MEN. I literally didn’t shave legs, pits other areas so I can make myself as unattractive as possible. I shouldn’t have had to think about that while on a combat deployment.

Countless times thru out my life I've been compromised in some degree. I felt like I could stop looking over my shoulder at 35. Then at the age of 50 -FIFTY- I was almost abducted. Hand on my heart I swear to Gods my guardian angel saved me. We are never safe at any age.

I was followed while walking from my apartment to the grocery store mid day. I was wearing sweatpants and baggy clothes. He approached me in the store and asked for my number. I politely declined. He continued to follow me thru the store as I shopped. After checking out, I hid in the bathroom and waited for a friend to pick me up. I was only 3 blocks from my home and was afraid he’d find out where I lived. I can’t even run a simple errand without feeling threatened

🔥We men can’t even imagine: in society WE KNOW it is MUCH BETTER TO BE ALONE than in bad company … Boston, mid 20’s, played volleyball every week, got invited out all the time but I didn’t drink so always said no, because the GUYS WERE JERKS and most of their “free time” they were ABUSIVE DRUNK JERKS, IN GROUPS, A$$H0L3$ to women. The kind of guys that would WHISTLE IN PACKS. I remember a couple of women were 24 with young kids and already divorced. Women in Boston were nice but always looking over their shoulder going anywhere. CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE. Must be alarming to walk around alone as a woman.

As a female, I do not walk into a dark parking lot without preparing my keys for a fight. I do not get into an elevator that has only men in it. I will not get out of my vehicle for a minor fender bender, I will drive to a safe place first. I do not make eye contact with men in stores. I would choose the bear every time.
