I think he used today for a double play—shifting the leverage in Lindsay’s favor while also using the media attention strategically. He knew the prosecutor wanted a gag order placed on him, and he knew exactly how everything said in that courtroom today would look in the public eye. In my opinion, he used that exposure to Lindsay’s advantage. If the judge doesn’t grant this motion and they ultimately have to pull from a second jury pool, the question may no longer be only, “Was she mentally ill when she did it?” Now potential jurors may also be coming in asking, “Did she actually do it?” That changes the conversation. I think he’s trying to make the judge and the state recognize just how difficult this case could become going forward—and potentially build additional arguments that could work in Lindsay’s favor. This man is nowhere near running out of arguments. Every word that comes out of his mouth appears extremely calculated and well thought out. He knew how today would play in the courtroom and in the public eye, and I believe he used both to his advantage. He is a very smart attorney, and I don’t think anything he did today was accidental.

I agree with Reddingtons arguments. I watched the trial and found the prosecution to be woefully unprepared and the basis of investigation was terrible. One narrative without evidence was followed and that was Patrick’s narrative. And Patrick’s narrative makes no sense with the evidence presented at trial.
