fontaine was so mid..everyone says the story was great and it was but other regions were better..fontaine is one of my least fav regions, it gets saved bc of the characters

fontaine was so so fun in the moment but as soon as it was over i forgot everything about it. the trials and the fortress were so long and so grindey. still peak characters though

people seemingly only remember the 10/10 MOMENTS of the story and not the 2/10 slog sections. I've been saying this since Natlan started getting criticism.

I agree I probably have rose tinted glasses about it, the fortress of meropide was actually boring as hell like we were just roleplaying being in jail for way too long?? but I also loved the trial mechanics and piecing the mysteries together. when I remember gameplay I remember how much fun I had defending Lyney, finding clues and untangling the secrets of the primordial sea, dissolving people and interacting with my, to this day, still favorite characters from this game. I can see why people didn't like it if the trial mechanics weren't their thing but I also grew up playing Nancy Drew computer games so I'm biased. I love Fontaine but I think people are a bit blinded by nostalgia for it, I barely see anyone talk about Sumeru in the same way when there were amazing things in that Archon quest too. I think people remember the plot twist and reveal of Furina and forget about everything else. thanks for letting me ramble haha it's good to rethink how I remember something I care about (I finally got Navia in the Fontaine Chronicled banner a bit ago I'm very happy)
