Do not confuse the Sabbath being a covenant requirement for Israel with the principle of rest being valuable for human life. They are related, but they are not identical. The New Testament does not teach that Sunday replaced the Sabbath. It teaches that Christ mediates the New Covenant, and that the Sabbath must be understood in that context. Christians may discuss the practice of first-day worship, but they should not call Sunday the biblical Sabbath without acknowledging that the New Testament does not explicitly make that identification.Our confidence must rest in Christ and our faithful response to Him, rather than assuming that keeping a particular day automatically makes us right with God.

OJ, I believe you’re a strong Greek learner. Let me give you the benefit of the doubt to come again with this explanation. If Christ replaced the Sabbath, which verse gives this replacement ? You never mentioned any verse. Additionally, I was waiting for you to further give the clarification on the covenant that contained new laws under the “better covenant”. Where were the new laws ? I am patiently waiting

John 4:24 says, God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit. God rested in spirit not physical rest so everyone who is obedient to rest on the seventh day is resting in spirit not in physical. take time read all Hebrews 4 and that rest in Hebrew meaning is SABAT meaning spiritual Sabbath

The Greek word for "rest" in Matthew 11:28 is "anapauo", and the Greek word for "Sabbath" is "sabbaton" (Matthew 12:1) So to mix one for the other is NOT correct!

Christ is the one to whom the shadow points. Hebrews also develops the theme of God's rest, showing that His promised rest is greater than merely observing a particular weekday. Genesis 2 does not explicitly record God commanding Adam and Eve, or all humanity, to observe a weekly Sabbath. God's creation pattern reminds us that human life should not be consumed entirely by work. We need to recognize our dependence on God and maintain a proper balance in life.
