If we focused less on skin color differences and more on the successful people that shared the same issues as we faced today... the more our families wouldn't suffer as we have. as kids/young adults, our worlds shouldn't revolve around the communities and blames for why these communities look and feel this way to the opinion of those who find violence as reasons to solve everything wrong, the more we can advocate or change it by cleaning up and taking better care of what's around us than to point blame on people who aren't actually there causing this bs. because I will HIGHLY state, if the black community really think it's the white communities fault for the d-rugs on streets or violence going on.. then why tf is it happening in the white communities also?!?! I spent half my life living in a white washed retirement village where all the rich white old people go to finish their lives. 16yrs later now and it's got more homeless people, g-un violence, and junkies running around now. So it ain't just happening to a selected group of people. it's happening EVERYWHERE! now I'm not sitting here saying "oh... it's cause the black people came through here and fuqed it up for us by bringing their violent ways. they trying to get us to k*ll eachother" nah I'm here thinking the whole time "how can I voice myself or get myself to have people listen to me, fix this issue with me, clean this place up with me, solve these issues with me. build everyone EVERYONE around here back up and make it back the way it was. where older people can finish their lives off here in clean and peace like they deserve. they paved our paths for us. they made this village for us. they gave us what we have here today. they don't need to live in gross conditions and fear to go to the store for their lives every time they move" LIKE SERIOUSLY THIS IS ALL HAPPENING BECAUSE OF US AND OUR OWN! no one else is to blame. it's OURSELVES for not using our brains right to make this whole thing not or never happen! so why can't we just learn from our pasts to clean up our futures so we aren't living the way we do today. I hate seeing our AMERICAN people suffer.

I grew up in the ghetto in the projects in Boston in the 80’s/90’s WE NEVER HAD THESE PROBLEMS! We ALL helped and cared for each other NO MATTER what anyone looked like 💞 Oh I miss those days 🫶

I grew up in the projects in Detroit. You had two choices school or the streets. The one you chose determined your life span. I chose to learn and work. 66 years later father of two with a beautiful wife. It’s all about choices. Out of all the guys hung around with 5 out of 20 chose the right path 15 didn’t make it.

I 44. I used to blame my parents for my problems starting out but at some point it was all on me. by the time I was 26 I realized who I was and my future was my responsibility and no one else's

I live in a city, used to be a town before 2017 so it doesn't feel like a city but I digress, and there is a lot of drug use and alcohol abuse and a lot of homeless people that are homeless for those reasons. yet I made the choice to become a house owner and I was able to pull it off at the age of 21. I worked two jobs for 3 years, without going to college by the way, and I'm currently living comfortably. I won't lie I did struggle on money for a while, but that's because I ended up being disabled and I didn't know it until it was a little late into things. but I am now currently living in my home and currently living comfortably. not well off but definitely comfortable
