Had septoplasty & turbinate reduction a couple years ago. It was rough. So rough. Those stents are miserable. Game changer once they came out a week later.

I'll be a full year post-op on 10/01 from my own septoplasty. GET A STUPID AMOUNT OF GAUZE. My nose perpetually dripped while my splints were in. It was actually ridiculous. Also, foods that are low chewing and easy to swallow while you are super congested were very helpful. I made pots of rice porridge with chicken stock, and I swear those fueled me for that week. Once the splints come out, it's a much less horrific recovery.

My daughter had that a few year She did well. Lots less sinus infections and corrected deviated septum so breathes better.

I had septoplasty many years ago. I don’t remember this surgery being that difficult. Unfortunately, I developed a CSF leak. Now that was bad. Hope his recovery goes well.

Good luck. Worst surgery recovery I have ever had ugh. The salin spray was amazing and when the stents come out don’t stop salin spray.

Interesting that he got pain meds! My 19’year old had a septoplasty this summer, they told her to take Advil and Tylenol.

I'm 2 weeks post op from Open Septorhinoplasty.... day 3 was the worst with your eyes swelling shut. Make sure to sleep at a 45°, definitely helps with swelling & bruising
