I am a purchasing agent for a huge distribution company here in the states and see real time updates regarding all this. Before the deadline companies all over the world were bidding heavily for the shelf space that will be left by Canadian products. Not only are the products great, but FAR cheaper and more profitable to sell here in the States. Countries that were able to secure shelf space have been building procurement, manufacturing, and warehousing extremely quickly offering a ton of jobs in their home countries. If this trade war ends and Canadians try to enter our market again, they face a MASSIVE uphill battle to secure even the smallest of shelf space in any market. The damage Carney has just done to the Canadian economy by refusing to negotiate is absolutely catastrophic. Asia doesn't want their products, and even if they did the shipping costs they would have to tack on to their products would put their price points out if reach for the massive majority of Asian markets. Canada is completely fucked beyond all recognition.
