My mother told me twice she wish I was never born. I’ve never hit her, curse her, stole from her or called her a name. I didn’t keep her up at night bcyz I was disrespectful or followed rules. I can’t figure out what I did to her that would make her say that to me. I’m 53 and she’s said it when I was 18 and 48 so she meant it

I was in an emotionally abusive relationship for 17 years, what I am pissed about was that even though 2 seperate professional therapists told me this was an abusive dynamic, I thought I just explained it wrong, they couldn’t see the whole picture, and they didn’t realize I am just too sensitive! I had to lose half my hair minimizing myself and repeating the dynamic of trying to “earn” love from someone who literally said the words Don’t expect me to actually listen to you every time you talk to me. This is who I am you just want to change me! I left 2 years ago, but definitely experienced a lot of anger and confusion with myself for staying so long.
