@mightynews: 🌧️ MAJOR FLOODING HITS NEW MEXICO Severe flooding is impacting parts of New Mexico as the remnants of Hurricane Polo move into the Southwest, bringing intense rainfall and dangerous runoff. The National Weather Service has warned of potentially life-threatening flash flooding across portions of the state, with saturated ground making it easier for streams, rivers and normally dry areas to quickly overflow. In southern New Mexico, flooding has threatened communities in Doña Ana County. Officials ordered evacuations in areas including Rincon, Salem, Garfield and Hatch after intense runoff raised concerns about levees and dams. A flash-flood emergency was issued as officials warned residents to move to higher ground. The flooding threat is not limited to one area.
