@quynhxvan: “Sometimes I think I have felt everything I’m ever gonna feel. And from here on out, I’m not gonna feel anything new, just lesser versions of what I’ve already felt.” This idea I always quote is actually from this dialogue from Spike Jonze’s Her- which I’ve thought about that script on a monthly basis for the last like ten years it’s been out haha. But it’s true! Sometimes you think your life is monotonous but only if you’re not interested in it! And if you’re not changing! If your canvas is constantly changing, the colors of your emotions will always feel different with every new lived experience you carry. But it’s up to us to allow ourselves to feel deeply enough to change and to be brave enough to give ourselves the chance to. How exciting!! The strange experience of being alive!! #life #emotions #humanexperience #spikejonze #twenties
In the same exact boat, you explained it so eloquently! I think you’re right, it might get to a point of repetition but like you similarly mentioned, it’s important to note that because it’s a new experience it’ll form new memories. While we’ll want to connect it with the past because we are pattern seeking creatures, we can realize what’s in front of us is creating a slightly different puzzle from the same pieces but to dive into the curiosity of what’s different. Love your perspective on this!

as a teacher (in Brazil), I'm constantly watching my students go through experiences that I've either already been through or am currently going through myself, and the difference in intensity they feel is overwhelming, but also sweet... on the other hand, if I kept feeling things the way I did at that age, I'd go crazy lol. at the end of the day, there's beauty in that overflow of emotion, but there's also beauty in more 'adult' joys and pains. 10 years from now, I imagine we'll look back at today, also thinking about how life felt so much more urgent and intense...

it also goes to show the importance of just being fully immersed and interested in our present selves, knowing that the life we’re painting and the way we perceive our experiences are ever changing and we’ll never get this back, wherever we may be rn
