This song was me telling myself after my OD that I had a second chance, and I used it to get sober. The clarity of the drugs out of my system, listening to this, imagining who I’m going to be when I move out of this rehabilitation process… I’m 43 days sober, and I started my own design company with clients who have become family. I am still so glad that I chose to get up off that floor and call 911. That I chose to get up off that floor and choose sobriety, breaking off friendships and pieces of my life like broken glass… I moved, and now I’m living a beautiful mosaic opportunity to be someone I never dreamed I could because of my addiction. I remember listening to this song and actually meeting the entire group because my church was big and the band was up and coming when I was in middle school, made it bit into the secular group with this one, and I viewed it so differently then. I’m so glad I stayed for her.
