so I would absolutely have them give it to me in writing that they are changing the policy to strictly favor people with children over those without. I would then be making sure to give a copy of that to the local labor board and whatever lawyer happens to pass by on a bus.

I don’t mind covering lateness or leaving early and being ASKED without strings attached to cover a full shift for anyone especially people with kids, it’s when the entitlement starts and my time become everyone’s time then it’s full stop cause I refuse to be a commodity. You can have a village and a lenient workplace without screwing other people over🤷♀️
