I had a pulmonary embolism in Jan of this year, it mimicked anxiety, but I knew it wasn’t only anxiety because my heart was beating out my chest and I couldn’t catch my breath, I felt like I was going to faint. Went straight to the ER and they found out I had the blood clot in my lung. Thank god I found it before anything bad could happen to me!

People will get on Facebook group chats with a picture of their finger COMPLETELY severed and say “do I need stitches”. Health ignorance isn’t the flex folks think it is.

We can't hear what you said about your left calf, which might be the most important thing. Can you elaborate?

Glad you're here to bring awareness. I had a massive clot the length of my leg and I too was moving, flew around three different flights. Another time I had one in my coratid artery and thanks to a very thorough PA at an ER they stopped a stoke. Thank God I was spared an embolism. You get an aura, your body just feels off. I have Factor V Leiden and am on blood thinners for life.

My daughter had a PE at 20 years old… ICU etc. She had a blood clot from her waist to her knee. She survived and is OK mostly due to her young age. If she was older, they said she wouldn’t have survived it. My Brother died of his PE.

So glad you survived. as a nurse , one of those who ignores signs and symptoms that I have , the extreme back pain you described would have got me to the hospital . Some of those symptoms esp extreme back pain would of had me thinking it was a AAA ( abdominal aortic aneurysm that’s my biggest fear

So would you say the symptoms are arm hurting, both arms, hard time breathing and your calf was hot and swollen. Did I miss anything? Just want to keep these in mind, thank you.

I'm about to take a two-day road trip for a two-month work trip while working on escaping a narcissistic ex-husband of twenty years.
Thank you for telling this story - I will be stopping frequently to take walking breaks!

I suffered a bi-lateral P.E. July 2010. I arrived at work and my boss saw me and immediately knew something was wrong. She ordered me to go home…. But then she did one better and called a taxi for me so I wouldn’t drive. It felt like knives in my back and chest. Excruciating pain. Heaviness. Fear. I got home. Wanted to lie down but couldn’t. My mom was there watching my baby and told her to call 911. Even Dilaudid wouldn’t ease the pain. I only blacked out once. They said they brought me back but I didn’t have an experience. My boss saved my life that day.
