@marco._serrano: My method may not be for everyone… but I got through flight school for $45K ALL THE WAY through CFI, and here’s how 👇✈️ 1. I trained with an independent CFI I skipped the massive flight-school loan and found an independent instructor. Smaller operation, less overhead, and I could train at my own pace. 2. I trained at a small airport Less time sitting on the ground waiting for traffic = more of my Hobbs time was actually spent TRAINING. 3. I flew A LOT Flying frequently helped me stay proficient instead of spending the first part of every lesson relearning what I forgot. 4. I studied ground school at home I didn’t pay someone $60–$100/hr to read PowerPoints to me. YouTube, online resources, books, practice tests, and self-study saved me thousands. 5. I SOLOED as much as I could during PPL Once I was endorsed and ready, I used solo flying to build experience without paying an instructor to sit next to me every single hour. 6. After PPL, I split A TON of time This was probably one of my biggest money savers. Instead of paying full price for every hour toward commercial, I found other pilots and split eligible flight expenses while building time. 7. I lived at home Not glamorous 😂 but avoiding rent while going through flight training kept thousands of dollars in my pocket. Could you do flight training faster through a big accelerated program? Absolutely. But if taking on $100K+ of debt is the only thing stopping you from becoming a pilot, just know there are other ways.
