The room appeared to have been ransacked, but nothing valuable was missing, leading investigators to question whether the scene had been staged. In March 1998, Sherri Scherer and her 12-year-old daughter, Megan, lost their lives at their Missouri home. DNA evidence eventually connected their case to Jenny’s and to an assault on a teenage survivor in Memphis.
