and even so the point of the game is sunny learning to forgive himself and to be true to himself and his friends (I believe). I think the reaction of his friends isn't shown because the whole purpose wasn't getting his friend's forgiveness but his own, and to learn to move on. ps:sorry if my English is awful, it's not my first language!

Obviously it would take a bit they wouldn’t instantly be okay with it but they will eventually forgive him idk I think some people are just genuinely stupid😭😭😭 Like if he intentionally murdered Mari then yeah they wouldn’t forgive him, but it was a complete accident so the only thing they can really be mad at him for is lying.

From my interpretation, they WOULD CANONICALLY forgive him. But it would take a different amount of time for each of the characters. For me, Aubrey would most likely be the first to forgive him and Basil, since she was almost put in the same position after pushing Basil in the lake. Hero obviously wouldn’t get mad at LITERAL CHILDREN (from the time Mari was pushed), and would forgive them. And Kel would be very upset but he would also forgive them, as he is (shown to be) very emotionally mature throughout the real world segments
