The best is to tell the band leader how much you want to be collecting per show, then if the band leader is a nice person he will give you from the spray money.. When you be come a band leader you will understand better brother. My opinion please 🙏

This is why most musicians don’t act professional on the stage….. they only focus on the money they will realized frm the event…… so I always expect them to charge reasonable amount and sort all the band boys…… if they spray at the party fine, if not fine….. you already get booked, not that you will be misbehaving at the event cos you want to play and get sprayed to make money ✌️✌️✌️

I want to say something, 1. Not all chairmen are greedy but most are actually greedy. I believe a band is a company where instrumentalist have decided to work. In the band there is manager and band captain… your band captain should be for the band members 70% and chairman 30% depending on the chairman’s transparency to him. So on bookings, truly your show pay into your account should be a certain amount based on what your boss collect after All logistics are removed, the remaining amount should be on certain percentage that all will agree on. Maybe in the case of 2m instrument 400k, movement depending on the distance let’s assume the bus takes 400k which i doubt for a round trip. Remaining 1.2m on landing cost may be you agreed on 70:30 on bookings and 30:70 on stage dash, then everyone is good. But Transparency always gives the chairman rest of mind

Hmmmmm the juju and other genres musicians should know their worth and know how to charge, it is not a must you play for stars and one other advice I will give every musician, “ DO NOT HAVE ONE SOURCE OF INCOME AND ALWAYS REHEARSE AND SEARCH FOR MORE MUSIC KNOWLEDGE. When you are good at what you do they will surely pay your bills, you don’t need to slave yourself because you wanna put food on your table. Thank you. 🙏

There are some videos I have made about paydown. It is important to get paydown for events, this helps to cover up just Incase there is no much spray. The paydown covers you expenses and transportation. However, your band leader must have hyped himself to the engineer, if he doesn’t package himself he will keep getting little gigs. It’s possible he might have lied to you about the 400 but it is best for you to think that he hyped the band in front of the engineer so as to always get better gigs.

Bro as a band leader I agree with paying expenses and spray sharing 💯 but you see that aspect of you taking money sprayed on you home yen I won’t agree to it because the spray that you will also share with me was sprayed on me so why would you get sprayed and take it home? U have spoken well bro and a good observation, though you itemize 4 things which i personally would disagree with the no.4 which u said the money been sprayed to a particular instrumentalist on stage should be kept to himself . Hmmmm! It’s dangerous sir, we r all human and the way some persons reasons, see things and react are different. There are some instrumentalist that perhaps the kind of instrument Dey play attract personal spray while others doesn’t have the grace but their own instrument too added much value to those who usually get sprayed on the stage . Mind you everyone as work as a team to the success of the gig. If some now take home huge amount of money while others did not, don’t you think they will feel marginalized? And that’s the beginning of bad energy towards themselves and could in one way or d other affect the band performance. And on the part of the person been sprayed it calls for carefulness. And I believe u get my point. They have all worked together, nothing is bad when everyone been sprayed on stage submit d money and shared amongst everyone. “a ma ni ri ija aye o”. My 1 cent sir 🙏

This was the main reason I stop going out with all this band musicians how can I be on set from 12pm till 7pm and all u can say is we did not see much money pls manage 3k I first ask am money for what my sax reed only then was around 4k not to talk for expenses and the like and my charge fee omo since then I just leave the stuff for them I’m not interested any longer

This should be the best way but let also think of how the musicians collects the money from the celebrants cos if they charge them too much they might turn to use dj or look for a cheaper musician so I think we should meet each other half way half payment from booking and half payment from stage

My own brother pay expenses well and we share stage money divided by total number of people on stage equally. Infact, na the instrumentalists will count money not the manager. He will provide bus for our transit to and fro. I have never seen any Musician like him. Everyone of us are always happy. Even he paid us for Vigil and concert and provide transit. I pray He is known throughout the whole world. He support every band member. Whenever any member has occasion, he will deduct from the shares for support and everyone of us must buy cloth, go there and spray money. Guess what, he is not a millionaire but he has fear of God. He even connect us to another artist if we don't have gig. I have never seen any artist like him.
