we are in JB. last month, we bought the new proton saga car for our daughter which costs only $13k. meanwhile, my sister (who took up S'pore citizenship a few years ago) had to scrap their 10 year old Altis bcoz renewing the COE will cost almost half a million Ringgit which is totally ridiculous. So wasteful bcoz their car is still in excellent condition.

Singapore government is no longer focusing on manufacturing companies. Singapore is aiming to be an Asian financial hub and headquarters for businesses. So it is not a loss to Singapore if manufacturing moves elsewhere. But the biggest challenge is that China will never allow a financial hub to be taken away from being world financial hub superpower. Singapore will face a backlash from China unless Singapore follow in their direction, aka: Master

You try work there earn 4,000 RM a mth, live there, spend there.... (ate a bowl of fisball noodle at 8RM). I live in SG, work here, earn 4000 sgd a mth, live here spend here... a bowl of fisball noodle cost 4SGD. Yes, many big companies are shifting there, only doing good for the business owners and their share holders, and the benefits the local govt there, the shift will reduce the unemployment rate, but what are the factories operators earnings?
