The Mgbede Festival is a revered age-old tradition involving prayers and rituals associated with the gods of the land. 🪘 THE SACRED OWA ASA TRADITION The End of Mgbede marks the sacred tradition known as Owa Asa in the Isiokpo Ancient Kingdom. According to the tradition, this age-old custom follows the New Yam Festival and the End of Okporo Festival, marking the transition into a new farming season in the Ancient Kingdom. After a 25-day period of seclusion, from 1st September to 25th September, His Majesty emerges to commune with the gods of the land.
