@irishstonelifting: The Curtaun Ringfort, Co. Galway. Damaged during the building of the M18 motorway. Eddie Lenihan has regularly spoke about the consequences of interfering with Ringforts including the Curtaun Ringfort. @askeatoncontemporary have an excellent publication "men who eat ringforts" which explores the desecration of Irish ringforts. My inspiration for this video was a 2021 article from the late Manchán Magan "From ringfort to ringroad: The destruction of Ireland's fairy forts". #Irishfolklore #IrishHistory #irishmythology #ringfort #fairy
The most staunch non believer still won't disturb a fairy fort.

Aside from the superstition, encroaching a development of any kind that close to an archaeological site is a travesty. I thought there were strict laws protecting these? - Also if you wanted to put up a back kitchen you'd be turned down figure that?

My father worked with a family and they went and dug up a fairy forth. The digger went on fire and the man jumped out he died a little while after. So I’m not messing with any of that stuff

John Delorean (Back to the Future car designer) cut down a hawthorn tree (faery tree) to build his factory in Dunmurry. His company failed, he went bankrupt, was arrested on drug charges. When he ordered workers to bulldoze the tree, they refused, so he did it himself.

Maybe the ring fort was built in a place where they noticed freak hailstorms, not the other way around 🤔

The knowledge of our forefathers is being lost to fools who are too "scientific" to believe in things that were held as sacred by the old people such as the fairies, ghosts etc

The people's who lived in our forts lived there for thousands of years, way back before the bronze age.
People's have lived here for 14000k years. Democracy is just a growing flicker in the passage of time, we have to nuture this and it last, but never forget the roots of our past. l have heard many local farmers comment on the misfortunes that follow if they flatten a fort. Ya don't mess with the stuff that science can't explain. 😅😅
