My 15 month old loves her stacking cups. at the moment she doesnt stack them but she loves putting her shape sorter blocks into the bigger ones and making it rattle inside.

Not every toy needs science to back it up 😂 sometimes it’s ok that they simply enjoy them 😂

Oh thanks for confirming my little boy is a genius. Been stacking his cups inside each other for months! Massively behind in talking or walking but at least he can stack some cups 😂 also fully here for the Grimms slander 👏🏼

I find our magnetiles, wooden rainbow (not grimms) and plastic animals are our most played with. They're always busy building zoos, farms, houses, stables and dinosaur landscapes 😂 Great for both my 1 and 6 year old!

This was by far my daughters favourite stacking/nesting toy - she’s 4 and we still use it now with her train set but we used it for stacking/nesting, colours, numbers and even like important people (police ambulance fire ect)

We’re a big fan of the Grimms rainbow in our house, It’s become a boat, roads, a house, beds, tunnels, towers, enclosures, boats etc I think stacking is what it’s used for the least. it’s the definition of a toy that can boost creativity because there’s so many possibilities of what it can become. The rainbow offers a very different set of geometric affordances in comparison to a stacking cup… curved surfaces, arches, nesting, symmetry, orientation, balance and combining pieces in multiple configurations just to name a few. I think if you’re going to be bold enough to make videos from a scientific perspective you really need be backing up what you’re saying with actual evidence, I’d love for you to reference some of the studies and research you have read to help you draw these conclusion’s so I could give them a read!

i love this! We do have all these toys, some get played with more than others but I base most of our toys on the EYFS plus my sons interests as ive seen a lot of people on here bash toys like inset boards cos theyre not open ended but they have so many good developmental goals

the way some people go on about that rainbow is insane. they be acting like you are a bad parent for not getting it. dont get me wrong I love an open ended toy but I also think there is a place for all sorts of toys. I think if a child loves it then that is all that matters. but people go on like ypu are a bad parent for not having a rainbow grimms shelf which I am convinced is more for the parent than the child.
