But the problem is knowing it's a delusion doesn't make the sound of footsteps go away. My hands still shake, I still find myself scared to close my eyes in the shower and when its time to sleep it hits and the scratching starts by the vent, the rational part of my brain just completely loses the argument to the fear. I'm stuck in this loop where I'm constantly analyzing my own thoughts, trying to figure out what's real and what's just my head messing with me, and honestly, that's the most terrifying part. you could say the most horrific thing to me and I would double guess myself before even thinking you actually said it. I wanna get checked but so horrifically scared of being labeled crazy or unwell because I wanna be seen as the same person and not just be remembered eternally as some crazy kid who needed help and medicine to live. its a empty memory same as if I were to be brain dead. no one would ever remember me when I was healthy and only remember the weak part. im scared it'll only get worse and im scared that one day I'll ruin my life
