Blackmagic built the AI assistant integration into Resolve itself, so there is no plugin to install. Reporting calls it a native MCP server. Blackmagic's own announcement, dated 8 September 2026, says Resolve 21.1 supports Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex. You turn it on at File, then Setup AI Assistants, then pick Claude Code. Then you ask. Organize my timeline. Write and run a script. Give this footage a warm look. The release names highlight edits from long footage, removing unwanted clips and batch rendering. The part the video does not say out loud: this is Resolve Studio only. The free version does not get it, and Studio is a one time 295 dollar licence, not a subscription.
