I got married at 19 and while I wouldn’t recommend it for most people I think there’s different struggles at any age. We also celebrate 4 years today!

agreed!! i think people should stop telling young people to not get married but rather ask them are they ready? not just to give your heart and soul to this person, but are your ready for the tough decisions you’ll be put into. how are you going to deal with in-laws? how are you going to do finances? separate or together? what’s your reaction to a fight? are you someone who just walks away or are you someone who needs to talk about it? marriage is easy, but these are things that you need to know before getting into it. because that’s what makes it hard!!

I never understood the rush to get married. People can still be in a committed relationship without making it official

My husband and I also got married young 20 & 21, but the one most important thing that truly helped us in our marriage was God and having a really good church!🥰❤️

I was married at 19 and divorced at 23 - I am team telling people to wait 😭😂 but if they insist I highly advise premarital counseling to have the hard conversations. We had 0 hard conversations before marriage because well…we were kids! Age brings so much perspective and wisdom.

I got married at 21. Been married for a little over 12 years. With six beautiful children. I personally chose to get married young because I knew I wanted a big family. While I love my big family. I hope for my children that they are more established with themselves before they commit to anyone. Thankfully, my husband and I grew together. but I watched many others around me getting married at the same age who have now gone their separate ways.

Not everyone grows together, people get divorced at 20, 30, 40. Regardless of when they got married. You grow and change throughout your whole life. I’ve been married for 10 years (got married at 22) and it truly feels like much longer than 10, we’ve gone through many, many things haha

I think it’s so important to also tell young people you do not HAVE to get married just because other people your age are getting married. It’s not a trend & if you treat it like one you’re gonna end up settling. (same goes for having kids)

I agree but with all seasons we've through I think we've matured and grown a lot more than people who haven't gotten married young

I’ve been with my husband since I was 14 years old married at 18 now 25. I have a beautiful son and one more on the way I wouldn’t change this for the world and I think this is a misconception that you shouldn’t be telling young people people been getting married this young for generations and most are strong enough for it. The most problem these days is younger people think they need to explore themselves with other people more than just one I knew who I was when I was 14 and still the same person just a little bit more wiser of course we went through ups and downs in this first few years, but every marriage does no matter the age! I blame most parents for how people act these days is becoming young adults, not giving them any responsibilities and letting them be children until they’re 18 years old and not giving them any kind of structure which is setting them up for failure in the long run, which turns to be more divorced rates and 30+-year-olds not knowing who they are to the day living in mommy and daddy‘s basement bc life is too much and they are just waiting for something to come there way! This is 100% my opinion and you don’t have to accept it!

I got married at 20 and have been happily married for four years, I think the thing people don't understand about marriage is that it requires compromising and sacrifices. when you get married you can't just think about yourself anymore, you have another person in your life who is affected by the decisions that you make. another thing is that love isn't a feeling, it's a choice. my husband and I have disagreements but at the end of the day we choose to love each other despite our disagreements and grasp that there is no one else in this world that we would rather be going through the trials of life with. life is hard whether you're single or taken, it's just about finding someone to go through the hard with and that you want to fight for. we recently bought our first home and are expecting our first baby here soon and we're both extremely happy and can't wait to meet our little girl. also nobody is fully prepared for anything in their life, it's just about learning as you grow and I would rather do that with my husband than on my own.
