@our.family.chroni6: I finally gave in. 😅📱 I was really hoping to wait until he was at least 15 before getting him his own phone. But now he’s in his first year of middle school, and his commute is about an hour each way — bus → train → bus. And honestly, I realized I needed to be able to reach him. So we made some rules. 📱 No social media. 🎮 No games, except things like puzzles or brain games. 📶 Limited data. 📞 Calls and texts are the priority. The phone is mainly there so we can stay connected when he’s out on his own — not to give him unlimited access to everything online. He was ok about this decision. 😂 Me? Still processing the fact that my little boy now has his own iPhone. 🥹 I said 15. He got one in middle school. I guess parenting is full of moments where the timeline you imagined meets real life. Sometimes you adjust the rule because their circumstances change. And maybe that’s part of growing up — for them and for us. 🤍 What age did you give your child their first phone?
