The right woman doesn't simply stand beside a man while he builds his life - she can encourage him, speak life into him, support his purpose, and help create an environment where he can flourish. And the right man should do the same for her.
Biblical love goes far beyond the butterflies and honeymoon phase. Scripture talks about the influence spouses have on one another, including a believing spouse's potential influence on an unbelieving spouse (1 Peter 3:1-2), the importance of a husband honoring his wife so that his prayers are not hindered (1 Peter 3:7), and the call for husbands and wives to love, honor, and care for each other sacrificially.
Because marriage isn't ultimately tested when everything is easy. It's tested when life gets hard. It's not about finding someone who makes life perfect. It's about finding someone who is willing to build a life with you — and keep choosing you when life isn't perfect.
And ideally, you aren't just making each other happy. You're making each other better - more loving, more faithful, more courageous, more grounded, and more aligned with God.❤️Because the goal isn't simply "I found someone I love."
It's "I found someone I can walk through life with, and together we're becoming the people God called us to be."
