i completly agree, if you can't direct yourself how can you gyide soldiers. and the reverse is true. if your focused solely on PT you will miss other things, that score is just a part of the whole. you have to be rounded to succeed.

Facts! We did a roadmarch on FT hood , it was full kit & raining hard on the trail my young soldier didn’t quit or got on the LMTV why they saw me marching until the end and both male & females nah I wasn’t going to stop because you kept going! So we finally finished and they were proud they hang in the 12 mile roadmarch full kit on the rain! My command team was impressed about our young soldiers they told them I was going to stopped because this old man is up front like nothing so lead by example is Gold & leadership without speaking a word
