@jazzy_morrisbiz: In the early 2000s, Eminem took a swipe at Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher during an MTV appearance, poking fun at the famously outspoken Britpop star and his reputation for dismissive comments about other musicians. Eminem was no stranger to celebrity feuds, and his sharp sense of humour made the moment another example of the rapper using television to needle a fellow music star. The joke landed during a period when Eminem was one of the biggest names in music and Oasis were still major figures in British rock. The contrast between Eminem’s provocative hip-hop persona and Gallagher’s notoriously confrontational rock-star image made the exchange particularly entertaining. It was also very much in keeping with the MTV era, when musicians regularly crossed genres and took public shots at one another. Looking back, moments like this capture the unpredictable 2000s music culture that MTV helped create. Eminem, Liam Gallagher, Oasis, Britpop, hip-hop and celebrity feuds all represented different sides of the era’s music landscape, making the clip a fun piece of MTV nostalgia, 2000s rock history and Eminem’s famously irreverent humour. #liamgallagher #oasis #eminem #mtv #britpop
