Most of the videos I've seen where people say how well they've done on Medium have been authors of technology focused articles. People who write about AI or niche things (I mean really niche) that seem to appeal to a small but very enthusiastic community. So I guess we all need to look for a hobby that has a loyal following and write for them.. maybe 🤔🤷 an old granny's rambles down memory lane might not fit the bill 😂

I could do with you talking me through this. I tried substack and so far in about a year I have 4 followers and 1 of them is me 😂. I have had a look at Medium but don't understand it. I post short stories or story openings normally.

I've had horrible traction on substack. about 10 years ago I was active on medium but I was fairly convinced the platform was nearly dead. maybe i need to find my old account!
