@ukmentorship: 💷 CARE WORKERS COULD BE SET FOR A PAY BOOST A major development for the social care workforce. The UK Government has announced plans for the first-ever Fair Pay Agreement for adult social care workers, backed by £500 million for the first agreement in 2028–29. The aim is to give care workers and care providers a formal role in negotiating pay, terms and conditions. (Wired-Gov) With around 1.5 million people working in adult social care, this could represent an important change for a workforce that provides essential support to vulnerable people every day. (Wired-Gov) 👉 Care workers deserve fair pay, secure conditions and recognition for the vital work they do. The big question now is: how much will pay actually increase, and when will workers see it in their pay packets? #C#CareWorkersS#SocialCareF#FairPay
I work in a care home and my hourly rate isn’t great compared to what we do. Especially when residents are end off life

£30 per hour should be minimum because good God £12 is not enough for what we go through.

The pay raise needs to start straight away not in 12/24 months. That’s why no staff are staying in the job . Underpaid for what we all do

What about the support workers who work with challenging behaviours, we are at risk & we do so many tasks like meds, peg & pump feeding, cough assist, peg site care, & they call us unskilled…🤷♀️

I’m a carer on £12.71 an hour, less than the litter picker, the server in McDonald’s and the cleaner in bnq 🙈

About time!!! Also, care workers should be able to retire earlier. It’s disgraceful the amount of care workers having to work long 12hour shifts in their 60s!!! It’s physically exhausting!!!
